The Organizing Committee of Patras International Festival of Film & Culture - "12th International Panorama" - starts officially in the period of submission for directors. So far, 78 directors have signed in, something that proves the Festival will again break the record in the number of directors participating. Under the following Panorama's scope which will take place in October 01-09, the Organizing Committee invites every independent filmmaker that wants to show his work.

Application Requirements:
a) Documentaries up to 60 minutes
b) Short films up to 25 minutes
c) All entries must have been completed in the last years (2008-2009-2010 )
d) All foreign movies (and English speaking) must have only English subtitles without any menus, the dvd's must not a preview and must be unlocked.
d) Acceptable formats are DVD
e) Deadline: must be received by 1st of May
f) There isn't any limit in running time for animation, video art and experimental films

IMPORTANT! We did not accept feature films. Only short films, documentaries, video art, animations, video dance

Send two copies (at DVD format) of the film, your CV, two color stills from the film.

The following categories will be included: shorts films, documentaries, animation, video art, video clips and a new category for this year dance videos and mobile films. It should be noted that the Hellenic and International part of the competition are separate.

From this year and on, there will also be new award categories of the competition such as: best film for music, ecological issues, matters of social sensitivity, homosexuality topics and lastly, the special category ‘Giannis Ritsos' for the best film for its lyricism. Patras University will also award the best film with anti-racist theme.

Having completed 12 years of creativity, the International Panorama remains a film festival without a preliminary Committee, without censorship and control, preserving the competitive element and hoping to transform into a mosaic of images that favour complexity and variety. Last year's Panorama projected 217 films from 56 countries and therefore proved to be the connecting link between cultures but also the festival that presented the public with new film waves.
